This section is for contributors memories of Canvey Island from the early years of the last Century. Roughly from 1900 to the Second WW in 1939 and up to the 1950's. This was the time of Hester, early bungalow settlements and the start of the big increases in population on the island. The time of WW1 and the depression, when Canvey was changed forever.
