When we unveiled the B17 information board last June we immediately said we could do with a couple of benches here. But with the History Trail and other things we were involved in we just did not have the time to follow it up.
We have now brought it to the top of our list and today we have started our campaign to get two benches placed at the board in memory of the crews of the two planes involved in the collision in 1944.
We still need to get the necessary permissions from the Environment Agency and the Borough Council. We know which benches we would like, subject to approval and have a rough idea of the costs.
The benches would be placed each side of the board facing inland and will overlook the field which the Borough Council has just agreed to name the B17 Memorial Ground. It would be great if we could complete the whole area with the benches.

We are making progress. We now have more of an idea of the costs including fixing. We are going to need around £1,000 so please send in you donations.
