The world of baton twirling is at Kay Norman’s feet. But the talented Canvey girl is in a spin about raising cash for vita! training.

Kay, 13, of Thameside Crescent, was a winner in the National Baton Twirling Association cham-pionships in Torbay, Devon. She recently met the world’s top twirler, Donald Garcia, who amazed millions with his record-breakine skills on TV.

Dad Terry, spokesman for the National Baton Twirling Association, said: “Kay has a natural ability and given the right training she could become a future world champion.”

Kay already has her sights on the European championships in Lyon, France.

A pupil at Castle View School, Sue is a member of Canvey Supreme Twirlers, and started the sport six years ago.

Terry is looking for sponsors who could support the cost of sending Kay to top trainers in Britain, Europe and America. The initial cost could be as little as £500. He said: “Sponsors would be helping a youngster achieve her ambition.
