Busy Day in the Library

Visit by Ron Reynolds

Joan Liddiard, Mick Swanson, Ron Reynolds and Lin Swanson.
Janet Penn

Ron Reynolds paid a visit to Canvey where he used to live. He first came here just after the floods. He was one of the founding members of the lifeguards and the manager of Ives Shoe shop in Furtherwick Rd. We arranged for Lin Swanson to come along as she worked in Ives at the same time. Ron had brought down some old photos of Canvey and we hope he is going to add some of his memories to the site in the coming months.

It was nice to meet you Ron.

  • This visit was needed, my expertise on putting text and photo’s on a Web page is not poor but absolutely ugly and shabby so I came to the experts.

How wonderful I did. To my great surprise and pleasure archive members had arranged for a working colleague of over 50 yrs ago to come in and see me which she did together with her husband.

Being here and seeing what is happening makes me feel I want to add my little bit of what I know about Canvey into their records, even though for many years my bits and pieces were up in the loft some of it will now be put to use for the benefit of the future generations and some have already been put on the Web site thank you all.  Regards Ron
