No. The high street garage mentioned was Canvey Motor Company where my dad worked. This looks like the one at Small Gains Corner.

Yes, this was next to what was the Murco back then (now the Jet). It was up until recently the car wash.

I think this is the site at the High Street opposite Beach Rd .Quite a few little dealers popped up and disappeared along that stretch between here and Gwendolyn Ave . The Corner plot was Kings Garage , further along was Essex Glass run by the Master family . I stopped visiting Canvey soon after my brother moved to Spain in ’82 .
