Memorial Service – Yet once again this parish has been stricken by loss in the war. The fifth hero has been claimed in Private Edward Fisk, of the London Rifle Brigade, who fell in action on April 27th.

The deceased with his parents was held in highest respect and the deepest sympathy is expressed on every hand. The church of St Anne, Leigh Beck, of which he was a member, was crowded on Sunday, when the Vicar (Rev J R Brown) held a memorial service.

Among those present were Sergt. E George, representing the Special Police, Lieut. G Mulley and members of the Boy’s Naval Brigade. An earnest and eloquent sermon was preached by the Vicar……………..
