This is an interesting painting & going by the Elm trees would have been a view looking south, however my feeling that the title should be Furtherwick road. It is a little difficult to be sure from my screen but it looks more like a haystack on the left with no resemblance to the farm which would have been to the right of the trees out of the frame. I presume the Artist felt that it would be a better as a country road without buildings. On the other hand my sceen is only 24inches & I may be missing something in which case I withdraw my comments. Bryan stated – “The details on the back say : Furtherwick Farm, Canvey Island 1909. The picture framer unfortunately covered up the details.”
