Fred came to Canvey from Wolverhampton in about 1955. He had two children for whom I baby sat Paul and Elizabeth. He supported Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and taught us a song about when they beat Spartak. I think he must have been in the Military from the way he walked and the sound of the blakeys on his heels.
