We have this great photo of W G Wilkinson in the Echo Archives dated 1972. Unfortunately other than he lived in Vaagen Road we know nothing else.
From the photo we can see he served in WW1 in fact it would appear he was serving before then. He has the 1914-15 Star WW1 Medal, War Medal and Victory Medal. From the badge on his jacket we believe he served in the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry.
UPDATE: we have found him. Its William George Wilkinson b1891, d1977.
