  • I remember Johnny Clark.

I used to waitress at Kings Club and he was the Dj at the beginning of the evening. A very funny act with a rubber chicken was one of his funny antics.

  • I was johnny clarks cleaner. He would introduce me then say she got a good voice maybe we should let her sing. Here she is Zena my cleaner  I would belt out a song and get a good response from the audience. They would catch me outside and say you should take it up as a profession. That’s what I did for a job. So it was all in good fun. Loved John his a legend

  • Was Johnny Clark related to the Clarks who lived on the Parkway during WW11? I had a good friend, Bill Clark who lived there during the 40’s and 50’s, just wondering!

  • So sad to hear this news. A part of my growing up at kings. He was a natural entertainer. Me and my friends still use some of his gags to this day! My thoughts are with his family at this time. 😢

  • Johnny was my cousin. To say I am gutted by his loss is an understatement. When we were kids, my sister and I used to so look forward to his visits to our family’s home every Christmas and at other times. He was our hero, and was always the life and soul of the party even in his teen years, a natural comedian even then.

He was a very kind, confident, adventurous and outgoing person, with an incredible, often cheeky, sense of humour – and very much the kind of person I would have liked to have been, if I could.

To answer an older question from those listed above, Johnny’s family came from south-east London, and I don’t know of any connection to a Clark family at Parkway.

He’ll be most sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

  • I knew Johnny in the 1980’s. We moved to Cornwall and he visited us here, he will be sadly missed and my thoughts go to his lovely wife Trudy and family.
