In the first postcard you can see the raised roadway and the bridges across the dykes so that people could get to their homes. This card is postmarked August 1931 and was sent to Brixton.
When looking at the caption for the second card you’d be forgiven for thinking that it was taken somewhere on the mainland. Why? Because there is no London Road on Canvey but that’s the original name for the roads we now know as Point Road/High Street.
The second card is postmarked July 1925 and was sent to Tottenham while the third one says August 1931 and was sent to East Ham. Have you noticed the spelling mistake in the caption of the third card?
