New Aquaglide at Waterside

Landing inside by the pools

In 1988 Waterside swimming pools had a new attraction the Aquaglide. Starting up high the aquaglide took you through the tunnel outside the building and landed between the two pools inside.

This photo shows Mike Kemp (I think) coming to a halt at the bottom of the aquaglide.

From memory I don’t think it was ever really popular. I used to go swimming every week and it was only rarely I saw anyone use, it.
