  • The second one in from the right looks like Graham Stevens, if it is he will know.

  • This was the first brick being laid at the new “Jubilee Hall” by Waterside Farm Sports Centre (detatched red-brick building with the apex roof) – funded by monies raised by Castle Point Round Table. The hall was intended to be a base for St John’s Ambulance.
In the white polo shirt is CRPT chairman Ray McKay and I can also see Tablers Ian Smith, Will Smith, John Ryan and Jeff Penneck.
I had the pleasure of opening the hall during my year as chairman around 1997.
Credit should go to Ray and the team for driving the project through to completion.

  • This is weird, you are a right Tony that certainly does look like me but I am absolutely certain that the first time I heard of this hall was when I read about it in the page that Janet Walden wrote about the St John’s Ambulance. In fact I mentioned it to her a few weeks ago.
This is a ‘dead ringer ‘ for me at that time, I was 49. Possibly this guy looks slightly younger! I think that the hair parting is slightly higher (Yes I had hair then!!!).
Not the first time I have been told I have a ‘ doppelganger’. So if you think I have been a bit naughty at any time. IT WASN’T ME!😂 Graham.
