Carpets for sale at Greenglades on Saturday May 23rd. Which year? Could be 1946 or 1953. Jessica’s family came to Canvey c1946 and left after the floods of 1953. They were living at Greenglades originally but not in 1953. (I will check with Jessica).
I suspect this was 1946 but see what she says.

Have looked at the calendar from 1946 to 1953 – Sat May 23rd was in 1953. I believe “furniture dockets” or coupons would probably have been needed before 1948.
