Invited VIPs, families of those who died and survivors walked along the wall viewing the mural and talking to the artists before Joan Liddiard, Chair of the Canvey Community Archive, thanked everyone for coming she then called upon Rev David Tudor for a dedication before the balloons were released. There were 58 blue balloon one for each victim of the floods and three orange ones for the victims in the Netherlands.

We then retired to the Windjammer for refreshments where Colin Letchford thank all the artists and Ray Howard addressed the guests.
