If you live in Jaywick you under potential threat from flooding at very high tides. When residents get a warning, they have to get themselves to higher ground and they grab a bag with essentials in to take with them in case they can’t get back home or if they get stranded in their home. The Grab Bag has to contain the basics they might need from a torch/lamp through baby wipes, candles, matches and food.
A few years ago Canvey Islanders were recommended to have something similar in case of flooding from the sea but now we’re told the Island is no longer considered to be at risk so we don’t need a Grab Bag any more.If you needed to make a quick escape from your home, what 3 essential items would you take?
