According to Ted Chinery, who was a County Surveyor at the time that Beryl Simpson was the Head Teacher, it is pre 1967, as “that was when we built Beryl’s office.

I believe the year to be about 1959 , as this is how I remember the school when I accompanied my mother to collect my sister from school and I remember it was still like this when I started school in 1959, I clearly remember the shallow pit you can see in the foreground as I recall it was said to be a bomb crater from WW2,I am not sure if that was true or not.

This is the school I remember from when I was there from 1959 to 62. The small window to the left off the 4 tall windows was the head mistress office. The quadrangle from there to the left (the walls of the bus depot) was our lunch time football ‘pitch ‘. Memories…………….
