Re “The Tibbett”, here is a scan from the 1925 Canvey Official Guide “Charming Cheerful Canvey”.

It is an advert for Archie (WJ) Tibbett including the house name “Dulce Domum” which I believe means “Sweet home”. I remember the name but can’t remember where it was.

We can remember him being in partnership with Loe and Co at the top of Village Drive in the 1950s, but didn’t know about his invention (The Tibbett).

  • ‘Dulce Donum’ was at the top of Village drive. Mrs Tibbett Snr lived there, Archie and his wife Kath lived in Deepwater Road.

I think Dulce Donum was split into two dwellings because Ruby nee Bartlet and her husband lived in the left hand part.
