Roy Ullyett the cartoonist crowning the Carnival Queen.

Roy Ullyett was a well known cartoonist. In 1966 Roy Ullyett along with others founded the British Cartoonists' Association. He was awarded the OBE for his charity work in 1989 and by the time he retired in 1998 he had published some 25,000 cartoons. He died in Southend on 20 October 2001, aged eighty-seven.
