These photos are from Vince Heatherson’s collection showing Canvey’s Bandstand at various times before the Council renovated it in 2008. The Bandstand was donated to Castle Point DC on the 3rd May 1987 by Peter Keeble.
On the 9th Sept this year our bandstand will be the centre of Canvey’s part of the biggest closing event for London 2012, the Bandstand Marathon will see over 500 events in bandstands and other open spaces happening across the UK.
Thats Sunday 9th September at 1pm. Lets hope it does not rain.
