Windmill Cottage
aka The Lighthouse
Another very faded picture from Ken Smith’s 1920’s photo album. I have done my best to bring out some of the detail but it is still not very good. On the right I have grey scaled it which brings it a little clearer. Has anyone heard the building being called Windmill Cottage before?

The building looks very much like the ‘Lighthouse’ that used to be at Oysterfleet, near Cherry Stores. What a pity the building wasn’t preserved as part of Canvey History along with the Dutch Cottages. I know who demolished it and it was sneakily done!!!
