Yes Sparrow I saw this picture on the record office site when the flood events were going on and was rather annoyed they could get it so wrong.

Tilbury?... I thought this was somehow Denham Parade; although, the white structure (in the centre) seemed odd... and the parade of shops being twice the length of Denham's, with an extra storey.

I cannot comment as to whether this is Tilbury or not but it is definitely not Canvey. Sorry Oneb. Looking at Civic Square on Google I would say Sparrow is correct. Many of the buildings are still there and recognisable.

Hello The structure in the centre is the Tilbury library and fire station yard, also still there today. Regards Sparrow.
