These are rent sheets from 1928 showing Captain Gregson’s properties, tenants surnames (in brackets) and the amount of the rent. Makes interesting reading.

Hello Re the rent sheets there is an entry for “Cerisy”. This was a wooden cottage directly behind Cherry stores. It was unusual because it was built on three sawn off tree trunks which had there roots partly in the lake so must have grown there. I saw it being torn down about three or four years ago. A unique part of Canvey history. I don’t know why it wasn’t listed Regards Sparrow

There is a picture of that bungalow on the site just before it was demolished. I will see it I can find it and link it in.
