my mum Elsie Angerstein worked at the pub in the early 1950s . She and my brother Philip Angerstein lived upstairs and whilst Elsie was working Philip as a 4-5 year old would be asleep upstairs. He remembers being saved from a fire at this time , someone touch the handle to his room and it was hot , he was rescued by a fireman. I have tried to find a story relating to this can anyone help please. My brother is terminally ill and is talking about this it would be great if anyone had further information.
