THIS BUILDING WAS ORIGINATED
AND COMPLETED
MAY 1951
It was always said that my dad helped to build the British Legion hall. Was this it or is this another building? I would love to find out. There are also photos of gatherings and dinners. It would be good to find out the history.

Yes it is the British Legion You can still see that stone on the front wall of the building.

Would this be George Curnick born 1916 in West Ham?
Arthur Arnold on the left , then George Curnick, Mr Cashman, Ted Hazelton,over his shoulder Mr Rue,and the lady is Mrs Saville.
You can just see Mr Clark’s head between Ted and Mr Cashman.
Yes Elaine, your parents did help in raising money as did all the committee members and their families… the men worked at weekends and probably other times to build the hall.
