After working for G.Prout and Sons for 23 years I joined the Halcon Group of Companies comprising of :-

Halcon Construction Ltd: {Stockroom construction and store clearance for F.W.Woolworth and British Home Stores.}

Halcon Building Materials Ltd: {Supplying materials to F.W.W. and B.H.S. and local builders }

Halcon Motors Ltd: {Workshop at Charfleets Estate }

Halcon Holmes Bros: Ltd: Taking over from the Holmes Brothers when they closed their shop in the High Street.

Nickolds Lt: {Coal merchants opposite The Admiral Jellico where the new Holmes Hardware shop was built }

Halcon Marine Ltd: { Moorings and boat repairs in Small Gains Creek }

Halcon Joinery Ltd: {Woodwork for F.W.W. B.H.S., and local builders }

Halcon Transport Ltd: {Delivering good for F.W.W.and B.H.S. to their stores, also boat transport }

Hainault Thermal services Ltd: {Heating and air conditioning engineers}

Prout Catamarans Ltd: {Continuing the building of Prout Catamarans at the Point}

The companies were run by Rodney Hall and his two sons Rodney and Peter . I was company secretary until retirement in 1987 The companies eventually closed down, the last being Halcon Marine which is now leased out. Rodney Hall died 2007
