This picture was taken on the 13th April 1936 according to the notation on the back of the photo. It is obviously three generations of the same family. Baby, parents and grandparents. It was taken by ‘Snapshots’ Studios of May Avenue, Canvey Island as can be seen by the lower picture.
We believe the names Harrison or Bolt may well have something to do with the family.

I have found a marriage record for Walter Leonard Harrison and Lousia Marion Bolt in West Ham in 1929. Both Walter and Lousia were living in Canvey in 1939 at 46 Lapworth Road. They lived at this address until they died. There is one other person living with them but the record is closed so I am unable to see who it is but is quite possibly their child.
Walter was born 28 January 1904 and died 2 Jun 1986, Lousia was born 4 July 1905 and died September 1965.
I can only find one record of a birth with a Harrison surname and mothers maiden name of Bolt and that is Madeline W Harrison born in St Pancras in 1935, this fits with the photos but is impossible to be sure the girl in the photos is Madeline, I cannot find any other records for Madeline so don’t know what happened to her.
Lousia does have an Aunt and uncle living on the Island in 1939 they are Alfred Bolt born 15 June 1874 and his wife Annie born 5 February 1877 living at 7 Jesmond Road. Perhaps it is Alfred and Annie in the photos and not grandparents as first thought. Alfred is Lousia dad’s (Albert Walter Bolt) brother.
