Vic Harding Memorial Plaque

Memorial Garden Paradise Wildlife Park

On Sunday 21st February I visited The Memorial Garden at Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire to see Vic Harding’s Memorial plaque.  The plaque would normally be accompanied by a steel shoe which speedway riders attach to their left boot to enable them to slide around the bends of the track; this is currently away being reconditioned.  You might ask why Vic’s memorial is located in such a place, it is because the park houses the Speedway Museum and in 2005 there was a reunion of Vic’s Hackney team mates at which his Mother Edna unveiled the plaque.

Speedway was his life we will always remember him

Update 2023

I visited the speedway memorial garden at PWP today (first time for a few years) and Vic Harding’s memorial plaque has been updated and enlarged, it is now more of a sculpture with a steel shoe, speedway bike frame and wheel incorporated.
