Seeing this cine of the Island Memorial would ,I think, be sufficient for a listing status for the memorial wall which now resides at the Paddocks. When the wall was moved between 1955 and 1962 the bronze plaque was removed and stored by the then council but was only returned by the current council but to the British Legion in 1996! It has however now been returned to the memorial. The original studs are still in the wall which is now sadly tilting backwards approximately three inches. The whole memorial needs refurbishing and discussions are ongoing. Let's hope a result can be achieved before it falls over!
