Looks like work will soon start on the Casino site. Boarding was erected last week and a notice stating ‘Coming soon, Luxury Development, one and two bedroom apartments.’
There are apparently shops being built on the side facing the seafront. With other ‘luxury’ flats just down the road for rent and still empty one wonders who will buy them.

Such a shame to see this site being used for more housing. I was very lucky to get photos just before they ripped down the casino. It was quiet strange standing in the ball room in pure silence with just a glimmer of light shining through the boarded up windows. A stunning building laid to rest.
Oh dear that beautiful ballroom, where we had some lovely dances and a couple of Police Balls. I remember them putting powdered chalk on the floor and Me falling over in the Pally Glide,the Saturday dances were something in the 50’s I have a photo of me at a police ball about 1956/7
