300 year old shepherd's hut

Painting by Peter Paul Hubner and dated 1920. On the back it states it is a painting of a ‘three hundred year old shepherd’s hut on this sunken marshland’ of Canvey Island.

  • Thatched Cottage, Sunken Marsh was located in modern day Wilmslowe road about number 3.
    In the 1921 Census Thomas PLUMBE was staying there and he was a retired silk trader.

  • I thought about that one but could not find it on the archive. I was sure I had seen it somewhere. Perhaps on a map.
