This used to be under the Thatched roof of Rev Hayes Well in Haven Road, Canvey Village. There is an inscription on the other side.
Great Picture – So much has altered in the few years since with most of the Caravans replaced with Housing obscuring the historical Coast Guard Cottages.
I believe the inscription reads ‘Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst’
I had no idea that this was a Dutch Cottage. This website was send to me by a good friend who lives in this vicinity.
