The Sculpture called 'Canvey Old and New'

The sculpture in the Memorial Gardens at Labworth is titled Canvey Old and New. There was a competition to find a winning design organised by the Essex Youth Service and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Essex Youth Services.

The winning design by Vicky Moore was sculptured by Pam Taylor A.R.B.S.

The unveiling was on the 16^th June 2005 by Essex County Councillor Tracey Chapman, who was the Cabinet Member for Children and Families.
