Reindeer make an early visit to Canvey

William Reed School Christmas Fayre

K

Reindeer came to Canvey Island on Saturday the 13th of November 2010- as far as known, for the first time ever. (If you know of any other visits, other than Christmas Eve, please comment below)

They were at the William Read Primary School in Long Road, for the Christmas Fayre. Debbie Jea had arranged, with sponsorship from Regis Group Plc, for the family of three (K the father, Sparkle the mother, and Precious the calf) to come from The Reindeer Centre in Kent. One of the stalls at the fayre (pupil Ben Jeas’ Wildlife Wonders) offered a draw to win a reindeer adoption pack.

They were made comfortable in a pen in the playground, and visitors could stroke them and take pictures.
