The Archive and our Flood Event

Don’t forget our Flood Event on the 25th February starts 2pm at the War Memorial Hall. ‘1953 Flood Remembered’

Pat Reynoldson Smith will be giving a talk and you will have a chance to talk to her and buy a copy of her book The 1953 Essex Flood Disaster – The People’s Story.

There will be other speakers a large exhibition of photos, stories and newspapers from 1953, plus exhibits from the Netherlands Flood Museum and the Environment Agency.

We will also be showing a film which can be purchased on DVD if you wish, all proceeds from its sale will be going towards keeping the Archive online.

As it says in the newspaper article we want your stories so they can be recorded on the Archive before they are lost forever.
