Great old place taken in 1979 but where was it. The only clue is on the left, a Mobil garage.
So come on where was it, please comment below.

the garage could be on the corner of Grasmere Rd/ Long Rd, if so the Finch family lived in the bungalow shown.
The Garage was once owned by Jim Taylor who also had the parade of shops built on the Long Rd.

My son said the garage in the village was Mobil so you are probably right Val.

In the 50s it was ESSO and was called Taylors garage

My granddad Albert Angerstein and his wife Florence opened a butchers at Taylors corner, I have the loan that granddad took out to start the shop but was confused re Taylors corner but after research realised it was the parade at the village. I have a photo which I will upload.
