Born to be a queen.

Article published 23rd March 1983.

A Canvey crowning dance was a dream come true for Canvey Queen Sandra Langlois. Even as a pretty two-year old, Sandra’s poise and personality shone through. Her parents always said she would be the carnival queen in 1983 and they were proved right at the ceremony at The Paddocks, Canvey. Sandra, now 18, entered her first fancy dress contest when she was two as a mini carnival queen complete with sash and crown. Mr Chas Hall, chairman of the Castle Point Chamber of Trade, presented Sandra, who works in a bakery shop, with a crown and trophy. Her court is Berverley Lambird, 16, Susan Dallas, 15, and last year’s queen Amanda Fairhall, 16, who is deputy queen.
