Echo January 1985

Canvey’s Snow Heroes.

Brave Bunch: Echo agents on Canvey defy a blizzard to deliver the hot news.

Echo delivery agents have shown they are a brave lot when it comes to doing their jobs in harsh weather conditions.

Chris Leary, 14, of Larup Avenue, Canvey, said; “I don’t have any problems, I just have to go slower. I usually go by bike but I’ve been walking in this weather like this.”

Duncan Smith, 13, of Spanbeck Road, Canvey said; “The only problem I have is getting cold. There’s no worries about keeping the papers dry. I go by foot and I put about three coats on and a pair of boots.
