Christmas came early for the children and staff at the Canvey Child Development Group when the local Rotary Club gave them a belated present. The Rotary Club presented the group with £800-worth of educational toys and equipment purchased with the proceeds of the Rotarians’ tour of Canvey during the festive season on a sleigh complete with Father Christmas.
The child development group is based at Canvey Health Centre, with 26 children aged between two-and-a-half and five years spending up to two years attending the group. The children referred to the group have failed to reach normal development milestones and the aim of the group is to help the children to reach their pre-school potential.
The equipment donated is designed to help promote speech and language, hand-eye co-ordination, physical ability and social behaviour.
