Unveiling of Flood Plaque at Jotmans
1st February 2014

Some of the guests at the plaque unveiling
After months of planning and preparation the day finally arrived and we were at the cemetery in Jotman’s Lane for the unveiling of the flood plaque to remember the Canvey Flood victims buried there. We could not have had a more beautiful day.
Rev Marion Walford conducted the very moving service. Castle Point Mayor Maryse Iles and Canvey Town Council Chair unveiled the plaque.
The guests included Councillor Ray Howard, Rebecca Harris MP, Borough and Town Councillors, members of the victim’s families and representatives from the organisations who helped us with the appeal.
Despite the bad weather we were greeted with beautiful sunshine
