  • Yes Sparrow I saw this picture on the record office site when the flood events were going on and was rather annoyed they could get it so wrong.

  • Tilbury?… I thought this was somehow Denham Parade; although, the white structure (in the centre) seemed odd… and the parade of shops being twice the length of Denham’s, with an extra storey.

  • I cannot comment as to whether this is Tilbury or not but it is definitely not Canvey. Sorry Oneb. Looking at Civic Square on Google I would say Sparrow is correct. Many of the buildings are still there and recognisable.

  • Hello The structure in the centre is the Tilbury library and fire station yard, also still there today. Regards Sparrow.
