The Late Joyce Humphrey

Joyce with her sons Lyn and Richard outside the Lobster Smack Inn
I first made contact with Joyce Humphrey in January 2010 after I had published a letter of hers that had been in the Bulletin in 1983.
At the age of over 80 she did no more than write me lots of letters with her stories about Canvey that have been published on the Archive.
Unfortunately she died suddenly in March last year.
Whilst going through my computer I have found some pictures of hers I do not think I have used in her stories, so I am publishing them now with a link to her stories so if you missed them first time round you can read them now. You can read her stories here.
A lovely lady I got to know thanks to the internet.

What a lovely house
It’s nice to see these photos of my Mum (Joyce Ellen, as she was then). She had a long and fulfilled life, and was herself very pleased that these wonderful archive pages exist.
I was pageboy at this wedding,
