Family History

Help please

Hi I am looking for any descendants of Vera and Harry W Murrell. They lived in Long road Canvey Island in the 1980s and maybe before. They were my aunt and uncle. I have very scant info, but searching various records I think they may have had 3 children, Sheila born about 1941 and Dennis and Geoffrey born circa 1945. This may not be correct though. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  • I had an Auntie Vera and Uncle Harry, who lived on Canvey Island in the 1940s to 50s ( maybe before the war too). They were not relatives but were best friends of my parents. Harry, raced greyhounds and played bowls. I last saw Harry at the clinic where he died in the early 1950s. I don’t know what happened to Vera. I don’t recall their surname.

  • Hi Suzy,
Probably not a lot a lot of help now but I recall that Vera Murell worked in the Canvey on Sea Post Office when Rosa Webb was in charge , early to mid 60s. However I don’t remember any children who if your d.o.b s are correct would have been close to my age at the time.

  • Graham, One of our pony boys at the time was called Dennis Murrel. The family lived in one of the roads off of Hollbeck . i replied to the lady at the time on Facebook, someone said Dennis emigrated.

  • Thanks Tony, after I made the comment I remembered a son, still don’t have a visual recollection of him but you have confirmed his existence for me. Graham
