Frank Young

Hello!
I have been researching my ancestry and have recently learnt of my grandfather. His name was William Frank Young, but he went by the name Frank. He was likely born around 1920.

I have recently learned he lived in Canvey Island (close to the King Canute pub) and he was a Bos’un at Victoria Docks. He definitely worked in the docks during the 1950s and 1960s. The only other slightly relevant information I have is that Robert Boyd lived at 5 New Road Canvey Island when he died (1966) and he was at one point Frank’s boss down the docks as Frank took over from him when he retired.

Frank was also known to hang with his son Dougie Boyd. Maybe Frank only moved to Canvey Island after he retired or maybe he lived there while he worked the docks. I just wondered if anybody has every come across this elusive Frank (or maybe the Young family) in Canvey.

I know this is a massive long shot and I have very little to go on, but thought it may be worth a shot to ask 🙂

Also, any suggestions to further this line of research welcome as I am at an utter dead end! Thank you!
