  • There was another Co-op branch opposite where I lived at Hooton’s Stores and petrol station. It was in the parade of shops by Yamburg Road. I still remember my mum’s number too!

  • the manager of the Co op opposite Marcos Road was Mr Small. I was only speaking to his daughter Christine in the library last week. 

    My mothers co-op number was 464963.

    I too would love to get in touch with Victor Drury.

  • My mum’s Co-op number was 315505 and was painted on the bungalow wall next to the back door so that our milkman, George Blackwell, could see it. My friend’s mum’s number was 421065. Funny how these things stay with you.

  • My mum in laws co-op number was 195364. my mum’s 941359. The  store used to be Phillips Stores prior to the Co-op.

    The Fire Station was in Yamberg Rd during WW2, then Gouldings Wire works took over the site.

  • I too can remember my mums co-op number, 548302. Think I remember it coz I heard her say it so often. There was another co-op opposite Jones’ corner, I think.
