1977 Canvey Urban District Council Flood advice leaflet.

Before the new, higher sea wall was built in the early 1980s all households were issued with advice in the event of a flood or flood warning. People who lived in bungalows were also given a refuge address, ours was the Haystack pub – I say no more! Fortunately this advice never had to be put into practice.
