But where
Fantastic photo taken in 1974 but where was it???
The man in the picture is Ken Banham does that give a clue?
I think the glimpses of the street at the sides are the clue. I have enlarged them for you in the gallery below. Have you worked it out yet?
Its the old Island Toy Shop before it was knocked down to make way the Knightswick Centre. About where Nationwide is today. For more photos click here.

The background building looks like Strutts Corner, Waarden Road.
Correct Janet
This is the rear of what I remember as Island Toys, opposite the Library on the corner.

Does it mean that its the old Barclays bank
If you click on the link Sparrow you will see the front of the building
It is the rear of the two former shops that were demolished to make way for Knightswick. On the right of the pic is Waarden Road with Electric showroom on the corner, while on the left the building you can see in the background was Baxters the Butchers.
And then Island Toys moved across to the corber of Waarden Rd where the Carpet Shop is now.
Island Toys! My favourite toy shop when I was a kid! I remember going in there with my mum and being amazed by the wall of matchbox boxes on the wall!
