This lovely postcard of the dutch cottage is by The Photochrom Co from their Exclusive Series, dated from around 1924 the postmark is 8 August 1924 (the 4 is not a definite). Apparently Irene was “staying at her auntie’s and having a topping time” The place she was staying was ‘Bon Accord’ in Leigh Beck and they had “a tennis court attached to the house so you bet everything is topping and plenty of bathing.”

Bon Accord was down Gafzelle Dr. and previously called White Hall.
I lived next door to Bon Accord from1942 till1969 it was a modern house by then lived in by Mr and Mrs Cotgrove and son Terry best neighbours anyone could wish for.
