The remains of the silver horse had been in three bin bags in my shed until I could bear it no longer. I asked a close family friend who is a brilliant engineer if he could do anything with the pieces, he performed a miracle and restored our horse to the fantastic condition it is now. Silver’s unveiling was a wonderful surprise for dad and my sister. Silver will come out on special days for children to ride on once again. He made an appearance on Concord Beach last Sunday, it was lovely to see him being made such a fuss of.
Thats just brilliant. What joins? Welcome back. Does he or she have a name?
Thank you Liz and thank you Dave for doing such a wonderful thing for Silver 🙂 I was honored to be at Concord Cafe last Sunday.
Oh, how lovely to see one of them back to his old handsome self! From the CCTV footage of the accident, I had no idea that enough of the original horse had survived for it to even be possible so it’s a wonderful surprise to see this! I suppose you have no idea when he’ll make his next grand appearance? I have been meaning to come out to Canvey for old time’s sake anyway and it would be lovely to see him all restored to his former glory!
Silver won’t be out until about Easter, he is having a little bit more work done over the winter. We hope to have him on a float in Canvey Carnival next year. I will let Canvey Archive know when Silver will be on show.
