158 Coastal Battery probably at Canvey Fort

Fielder is in the centre
We believe this was taken in the early part of WWII. It is of the 158 Coastal Battery made up of Royal Engineers from Stratford and Fielder’s Royal Artillery. Probably taken in 1937-39 as Fielder was posted overseas in 1940.
Horace Percy Fielder can be seen in the front row just to the right of centre. I have magnified a section of the picture for you.

I agree this was an early photo as my father Bill Bishop, sitting third from the right in the front row, was a Corporal at that time, but went on to become a Sergeant.
